The Reverend Charles Reynolds was born and raised in New York City, but – by the Grace of God - has been a Virginian since 1989. Following his retirement from the U.S. Marine Corps in 1992, he enrolled in Duke Divinity School, graduating in 1995 with a Master of Divinity degree. Ordained a Deacon in 1994, and an Elder in 1997, Pastor Reynolds has served First (Broadway), Providence (New Kent), and Verona. In 2008, Bishop Charlene Kammerer appointed him to serve as an Extension Minister, with the task of establishing a new wellness ministry. From 2008-2015 Reverend Reynolds served as Executive Director of Virginia Conference Wellness Ministries, Ltd. Following his request to return to parish ministry, Bishop Cho has appointed him to serve Calvary UMC effective July 1, 2015.
Charlie’s wife, Mindy, was born and raised in New Jersey – but has lived in North Carolina and Virginia since 1984. She is a graduate of Duke Divinity School and a consecrated Diaconal Minister in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), currently serving on the staff of Bishop James Mauney in the Virginia Synod.
The Reynolds’ family includes two adult children – a daughter, Kelly, resides in North Carolina. A son, Charles, and his wife Nikki reside in Leesburg, Virginia with their two children, Charles Kenneth (“C.K.”) and his younger brother, Kian. Charlie and Mindy also serve as human “parents” for Charlotte, a six year old mixed breed rescue dog whom they adopted in November 2009 at the age of six months. They reside in Fishersville, and enjoy traveling, visiting with their many family and friends, spending time with their two incredible grandchildren, and rooting for their beloved New York Yankees and Duke Blue Devils.
