WHO WE ARE

Calvary is a family of believers called to PRAISE God in worship, GROW as disciples of Jesus, and LOVE one another and our community, by the power of the Holy Spirit. We are passionate about sharing God’s love, and we seek to do that in worship services, small group studies, fellowship events, and service opportunities.

We’re committed to shining the light of Christ here in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley and throughout the world. We believe that every person is a beloved child of God, and we welcome you to partner with us in mission and ministry!

STAFF & LEADERS

OFFICE AND PROGRAM COORDINATOR: Christina Daniel

Christina Daniel is the voice that you'll hear greeting you when you call the church office. She takes care of many tasks each day that are key to the success of our church. In addition to her administrative responsibilities, Christina coordinates volunteers, assists ministry teams and leads a variety of programs and events. Christina enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, and cheering on the Virginia Cavaliers! One of her favorite Bible verses is 1 Corinthians 16:14 and her favorite quote is "Tell me and I forget; teach me and I may remember; involve me and I learn".

PASTOR: Rev. Adam Blagg

Pastor Adam arrived at Calvary in the summer of 2026. He grew up in Highland County, went to college to study history but ended up working in management after graduation and eventually landed in Harrisonburg. He attended seminary at Eastern Mennonite and served Glossbrenner UMC in Churchville for seven years. After graduation he was appointed to serve Otterbein UMC in Harrisonburg and just completed his twelfth year.

He met his wife, Christy, in college, was lucky enough to have her agree to marry him and they have raised four children together, Jacob, Kira, Lena, and Micah.

Adam is excited to learn about this part of the Valley and to learn firsthand what great things Calvary is doing and being able to share in ministry with everyone. If you would like to connect with him or learn more about our church family, please send him a message.

PASTOR: Rev. Meredith Webb

Pastor Meredith arrived at Calvary in the summer of 2024. Calvary is Meredith's first appointment and she was recently licensed as a Local Pastor in the Virginia Conference of the United Methodist Church. Meredith graduated from Emory University Candler School of Theology with her Master of Divinity. Before that, she graduated from Shenandoah University with a BA in Religion and a BS in Sociology. Meredith aspires to be an Ordained Elder in the UMC and is working diligently towards that goal. Before coming to Calvary, Meredith served in youth ministry and was an intern with an Atlanta area food bank, the North Georgia Conference Center for Congregational Excellence, and Emory Johns Creek Hospital as a Chaplain. These experiences prepared her well for her responsibilities as Associate Pastor at Calvary which include congregational care, mission, and outreach.

Meredith is passionate about nurturing discipleship, cultivating compassion, and deeply loving the communities she is a part of. When she has spare time, Meredith enjoys spending time with those who bring her joy, crafting, and participating in community theatre productions.
